Last week on Reincarnated As A Slime we were introduced to the virginal 37 year old who was reincarnated as a slime after a mysterious, talking skill tree accesses his dying thoughts. This week picks up right where we were left as Satoru the slime speaks with his new pal, Veldora. They try to come up with a plan to free Veldora from his Imprisonment and give each other a name that will link their friendship.
I really did not think I’d like this show much at all. There’s far too many overused tropes which should have made these episodes dull and practically predictable. Instead, it’s still quite funny and dare I say, interesting to watch Rimuru, (the slime’s new name), consume enemies to increase his skills.
Unlike most protagonists in a similar plot, Rimuru doesn’t immediately understand the true potential that his powers possess so the action sequences in this Episode are quite comical. In fact, I enjoy this title so much that I want to get into the manga series to see more of the direction this show is going. Episode 2 of One Punch Slime is even more entertaining than the premiere as Rimuru slays enemies with ease and leaves viewers yearning for the next episode.
You know what? So far Reincarnated as a Slime is like Overlord combined with One Punch Man. Huh. No wonder I like it.
