Upcoming Fall Anime Reviews

A new season of Anime means a new review lineup!

Parting with the good shows of the summer season lineup was difficult. Happy Sugar Life was a psychological horror show that addressed trauma of sexual abuse and so much more. Revue Starlight may have had a poorly executed ending, but overall was a pretty decent show. Fall is here and there’s a slew of new and returning shows that I am excited to dive into. Here’s a list of titles that I’ll be reviewing as the episodes become available.

Fairy Tail

A Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry after credits scene that told viewers that the anime would be coming back for a final season. The manga “ended” poorly in my opinion earlier this year but that’s not taking away any of my anticipation to see some of my favorite characters return. Even some villains will be fascinating and Lucy has acquired some skills that puts her as more than a summoner in distress on the battlefield. Fairy Tail will be streaming on Funimation as of October 6th.

Senran Kagura

senrankagura

Senran Kagura is a popular action video game franchise starring women as ninjas. I believe this franchise was inspired by Battle Vixens, (its anime titled Ikki Tousen), as characters lose articles of clothing in battle. The first season of Senran Kagura was released some years ago was less than fairly decent underneath its blatant fan-service so I wonder what the second season could possibly have in store for viewers. Senran Kagura will be streaming on Crunchyroll as of October 13th.

The Girl In The Twilight

twilightgirl

Asuka and her friends from school search for an alternate world when the clock strikes 4:44. Nothing happens besides a crystal that makes a strange, ominous sound. They try again and this time, it actually works; they enter an alternate dimension and see a warrior that looks just like Asuka. The Girl In Twilight streams on HIDIVE on Mondays as of Oct. 1st.

As Miss Beelzebub Likes It

beelzebublikes

Beelzebub is a demon lord in charge of many lesser demons. A new demon under her directions learns that Beelzebub is actually not scary like the typical demon; She’s laid back and loves anything fluffy. Streaming in the U.S. has not been announced yet for this title.

Zombieland Saga

zombieland

A group of girls try to survive a zombie apocalypse in this new horror anime. Much surrounding the plot has been shrouded in mystery but the trailer gives the impression that this show will be nuts. Zombieland Saga will be streaming on Crunchyroll as of October 4th.

Goblin Slayer

goblinanime

One of my earliest manga reviews gets an anime adaptation. A young priestess joins a guild and nearly on the brink of death she is saved by the Goblin Slayer, an adventurer on a journey to kill all goblins. Goblin Slayer will be streaming on Crunchyroll as of October 6th.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

slime1

37 year old Satoru dies before he could ever get the chance to have a girlfriend, or even have sex. As he dies, his dying thoughts transfer into his new form in a new world of magic and adventure; a blue heap of slime. That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime is available for streaming as of October 1st on Funimation.
There’s plenty of other titles to dive into this season but these are the ones I hope to stick to. Perhaps I’ll add more to the lineup and Netflix is rolling out some titles, (Castlevania, Lost Song, etc), that I’ll be reviewing as a whole rather than weekly.
